Did being a motherless child, unloved and abandoned,
groom me to become a bully’s target?

Did being skinny and shy, afraid to speak out, or defend
place that invisible mark on my forehead?
Did believing their ugly words make me weak?
Did fearing their ugly words make them strong?
Now years later, it matters not.
