GOOD ENOUGH, by Jennifer S

Every day,
Constant jeers.
Do you never tire
My “friendly” peers?
Must you remind me
Every day?
It’s not my fault
That I’m this way.
I’m so freaking tired of being sad,
But I’ll just keep smiling
And pretend to be glad.
Yet when I’m at home,
Oh, here come the tears,
And I am reminded
Of the worst of my years.
For once just stop
And leave me be.
It hurts much more
Than you can see.
The next time you meet
And you think that I’m tough,
Just know I have plenty of reasons
To not feel good enough.
