~On the inside, by Drew M
“I heard someone at my school who is particularly well known for being insecure, trying to look cool, and mistreating others say that when those who get bullied don’t tell the bully that it bothered them, it is their fault. Then, another kid I knew said ‘Oh, really? So you never hide what you’re really thinking? You’ve never done that before?’ The other kid was then at a loss for words. I have chemical depression and the first thing I thought of when I heard victims of bullying being blamed for their abuse was ‘Ha’. So my artistic message in this piece is: Don’t let yourself be mistreated, you are worth so much as a human being. You DO deserve love and to be stood up for. Don’t be scared to have a voice.”
