“I drew this as part of a fictitious work, exploring the concept of bullying from the perspective of a victim. (I myself have only ever been mildly bullied, but I’ve seen a lot of the horrors of bullying at my school and have a few friends who have experienced it.) It expresses the bully standing over the victim, illustrates them as the tall tormentor who keeps the victim awake at night, covered in bruises. In the top right corner, they are shown again as merely a cloud blocking out the sun – clouds pass. Bullying is a frightening thing but it doesn’t last forever; it can be overcome.”
