You Will Rise Story, by Anonymous

Throughout elementary to middle school, I was constantly bullied by this one girl. We used to be close friends but later on, I was always ridiculed, criticized, and left out by her. In elementary, she would always call me terrible things and say things that would make me feel upset or uncomfortable, and in middle school, she would always message me and say things that weren’t really nice and spread rumors about me to other people. It was when in 8th grade, I had enough. I didn’t want to let her take advantage of me all the time. From all the sadness and stress I held onto for the past 6-7 years, I gathered up all my courage and confronted her. I was afraid but I was willing to stop all this madness. I told her everything and how greatly affected I was from the way she treated me. Although it may not seem like a huge deal, on that day, I felt like I accomplished something huge. I have never felt so brave. The weight that has been on my chest for the past years, has been lifted. I never regretted doing it. From this story, I encourage those who are also getting bullied to gather the courage to speak up. It may be scary, but something good will come from it.
