~Butterfly, by Stephanie
“I drew this butterfly.
If you can’t see the quote, it says “Be strong now, it might be stormy now, but it can’t rain forever.”
I drew this and placed it with this quote for many reasons.
Mainly because I was inspired by Leda’s story behind her tattoos (which you can watch here [link] )
Basically the story is about looking at the positive side of life, like a butterfly since they’re beautiful. So instead of viewing the world as ugly, look at it instead as beautiful.
Everyone is beautiful inside and out. You shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Don’t give in to all the wicked lies people try to convince you to believe. (This video is a good example of that, it’s called wish. [link])
I also drew this as part of the butterfly project:
1. when you feel like you want to cut, take a marker or pen and draw a butterfly on wherever the self-harm occurs.
2. name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better.
3. NO scrubbing the butterfly off.
4. if you cut before the butterfly is gone, it dies. if you don’t cut, it lives.
5. if you have more than one, cutting kills them all.
6. another person may draw them on you. these butterflies are extra special. take good care of them.
7. even if you don’t cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support. if you do this, name it after someone you know that is suffering right now, and tell them. it could help. . [link]
Last week I did a speech on bullying. Let’s change things. [link] I know we’re not perfect, we’re human and we’re bound to make mistakes. But bullying shouldn’t ever occur. We don’t know what really goes on in anyone’s life except our own. When you mess with one part of someone’s life, you affect their WHOLE life. Everything affects everything. I strongly suggest reading the novel Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher [link] .
And no, I’m not saying I have never done these things. There is nothing I can do to change my past, but I can help a brighter future. Last year I went through a dark time, and this year I am trying to work past that. Who knew how much four months could change me. I’m clean and happier. I will never be as depressed as I once was…but I can never be as happy either. Through this time, I have made friends…and lost people close to me. I have pushed people away in all the wrong ways. I have picked fights and cried for attention. I blame the maladaptive dreaming and insomnia, as well as borderline personality perhaps, but it’s no excuse. I’m sorry if I have ever been rude to you or offend you or if I just downright annoy you. To any one going through dark times *hugs* [link] [link] Just remember, you are NOT alone. Even if you think you are. You aren’t. Somewhere out there loves you, and cares for you. Always try to look on the Brightside of things. I met this girl named Kristen recently and she’s a cutter. I’m praying for her and trying to make her happy. Butterflies. It was nice to know I’m not alone and now I am trying to help her. If anyone just wants to talk or maybe get some advice I’m always here ^ ^. And no, I’m not trying to play savior, I’m biting my tongue. I wish for the best for anyone who reads this over the stars. And a prayer as well . Thank you for viewing this, have a happy day and … I LOVE YOU!
